Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about booking, pricing, and what to expect from Kathy’s Cleaning.
Booking & Scheduling
How do I book a cleaning?
You can book online through our website or give us a call. We’ll find a time that works for your schedule – no pressure, no hassle.
How far in advance should I schedule?
We recommend booking at least 72 hours in advance. That said, we’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests when availability allows.
Do you offer recurring cleaning appointments?
Yes! We offer weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly recurring cleanings. Recurring clients receive priority scheduling and consistent rates – because a great cleaning relationship gets better over time.
What if I need to reschedule?
No problem at all – life happens. Just give us at least 24 hours notice and we’ll find a new time that works for you.
What’s Included
What does a standard cleaning include?
Our standard cleaning covers dusting, vacuuming, mopping, kitchen and bathroom cleaning, wiping surfaces, and tidying common areas – the essentials done with care and attention to detail.
What is a deep clean?
A deep clean goes well beyond our standard service. We clean inside appliances, scrub grout, detail baseboards, clean light fixtures, and tackle areas that don’t get regular attention. It’s a thorough, top-to-bottom refresh for your home.
What’s not included?
We don’t clean biohazard materials, pet waste, or areas with severe hoarding conditions. Exterior window cleaning and moving heavy furniture are also outside our standard scope. If you have a specific need, just ask – we’re happy to discuss what we can accommodate.
Pricing & Payment
How is pricing determined?
Pricing is based on the size of your home, the type of cleaning requested, and the frequency of service. We always provide a free estimate before any work begins – no surprises.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and CashApp. Payment is due at the time of service.
Should I tip my cleaner?
Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. If your cleaner did a great job, it’s a wonderful way to say thank you.
Preparing for Your Cleaning
Do I need to be home during the cleaning?
Nope! Many of our clients provide a key or door code and go about their day. We just ask that the home is accessible and that pets are secured before we arrive.
Should I tidy up before the cleaner arrives?
We’re there to clean, not organize – so no need to stress. That said, picking up loose items and clutter ahead of time helps us focus on the deep, detail-focused cleaning that makes the biggest difference.
Supplies & Equipment
Do you bring your own supplies?
Yes – we arrive fully equipped with all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment. If you have a preferred product you’d like us to use, just let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate.
Do you offer eco-friendly cleaning options?
Absolutely. We offer green cleaning options using non-toxic, environmentally friendly products – safe for your family, your pets, and your home. Simply request it when booking.
Trust & Safety
I have homeowners insurance. Why does my cleaner need to be insured too?
Think about it this way:
If a cleaner accidentally damages your flooring, spills a product that ruins a countertop, breaks an expensive fixture, or causes other property damage while performing their work, you shouldn’t automatically have to turn to your own homeowners policy, pay your deductible, and file a claim against your insurance.
The cleaner’s business liability insurance may provide coverage when the cleaning business is legally responsible for accidental damage to a client’s property.
There’s also the question of injuries.
Cleaning is physical work. Wet floors, stairs, ladders, lifting, chemicals and repetitive movement all create opportunities for workplace injuries. If someone gets hurt while working in your home, you don’t want to discover after the accident that the person or company you hired had no appropriate insurance in place.
Homeowners liability coverage can protect you in certain situations if someone is injured on your property, but that does not mean every injury involving someone working in your home will automatically be your homeowners insurance company’s responsibility. Contact your insurance company for questions on this.
Are you insured?
Yes – Kathy’s Cleaning is fully insured and bonded. In the unlikely event that something is damaged during a cleaning, we will make it right.
Is Insurance important when hiring a cleaning company?
Yes – Because you’re inviting someone into one of your biggest investments: your home.
Accidents can happen, even with the most careful cleaner. Someone could slip on a wet floor, get injured while working in your home, accidentally damage flooring or furniture, knock over an expensive item, or cause other unintended property damage.
When you hire someone who carries proper business insurance, there is an additional layer of protection in place for both the homeowner and the cleaner.
Without it, things can get complicated quickly. Depending on the circumstances and your homeowner’s insurance policy, you could find yourself dealing with a liability claim, paying a deductible, or discovering that certain business-related damage or incidents are not covered the way you assumed they would be.
What if something gets damaged?
Please notify us within 24 hours of your cleaning. We take these situations seriously and will work with you promptly and fairly to resolve it.
Pets
Are you pet-friendly?
We love animals! We just ask that pets are secured or confined to a specific area during the cleaning, for everyone’s safety and comfort.
Will my pet be let outside?
No – we will never open exterior doors to let pets out. Please make arrangements for your pets before we arrive so everyone stays safe.
Cancellations
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hours notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand things come up – just reach out as soon as you can.
